Veterans Garden Dumfries – Community, Recovery & Wellbeing
Veterans Garden Dumfries is a unique community project in the heart of Dumfries, Scotland, dedicated to supporting veterans, serving military personnel, Blue Light Workers, and the wider local community.
We provide more than just a meeting space – we are a working garden and wellbeing hub, where people can grow together, share skills, and find peace through nature and community.

Supporting Veterans, Blue Light Workers & the Local Community
Our garden is open to:
Armed Forces veterans and serving personnel looking for connection, recovery, and purpose.
Blue Light Workers – including police, fire, ambulance, and NHS staff – who give so much to our communities and deserve a place to relax and recover.
Local community members and families who want to be part of a positive, supportive network.
By bringing these groups together, we create a strong, welcoming space where everyone feels valued.

Recovery Through Gardening & Hands-On Activities
At Veterans Garden Dumfries, we believe that healing and resilience grow through action, connection, and creativity. That’s why our project includes:
🌱 Therapeutic Gardening for PTSD Recovery – Many of our members find gardening reduces stress, improves mental health, and supports recovery from PTSD and trauma.
🔧 Community Workshops & Sheds – We offer woodworking sheds, mechanical workshops, and practical projects where members can learn new skills or share existing ones.
💬 Peer Support & Friendship – Sometimes the most powerful thing is simply a chat over a cuppa, building trust and connection with others who understand.
